The Commissioning Process:

1. On expressing interest in a particular commission, we would hold an initial discussion with a view to establishing a brief and a budget.

2. If you would like me to come up with some designs for you, I would then ask a non-refundable consultation and design fee of £250. If you decide to proceed with the commission, this will be deducted from your deposit.

3. Following the design process you would be presented with at least two design illustrations to consider, on the basis of the brief you have provided. You would also have the opportunity to choose from various samples of wood before we would provide you with a final quote for the piece in question.

4.The commissioning process, from the first designs to the finished piece, can last several weeks, but the aim is to make the commissioning process a personal, enjoyable and involved one.

5. Your new work of art will arrive once it has been lovingly created! All of our pieces are (discreetly) stamped with the Hendel-Blackford logo and the year in which the piece was made and we send all our clients a sapling of a tree of their choice, to replace the wood used in their new piece of furniture
